Puppy Foundations for Dog Sports
Instructor- Clarisse Schwanz
Dates-Saturdays November 25, December 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
6 weeks - $130
Time: 10-11am
Limit of 5 dogs per class
This class will prepare puppies and their handlers who have passed a puppy class (or have the
skills to test into the class) prepare for a future in all kinds of dog activities. The skills learned in
this class can translate to multiple sports/activities, be it agility, obedience, rally, dock diving, or
something else. It is also an opportunity for students to explore options available and consider
what sports they want to get into. This is a zero physical impact class. Skills that will be
practiced include:
Beginning heel work
Targeting
Send Outs
Developing and utilizing drive
Proofing stays and recall with distance and distractions
Body awareness
Handling skills for the handler
Confidence building
We will need copies of the pup’s shot records. We also need proof of a negative fecal exam done within the last year. If you haven’t done a fecal you can do it now and if necessary your pup can be cleared before the start of class.
You will be officially registered once we receive all of your paper work and the class is paid for.
Fun With Senior Dogs
Instructor- Clarisse Schwanz
Dates-Thursdays November 30, December 7,14,21,28, January 4th
6 weeks - $130
Time: 6:30- 7:30pm
Limit of 5 dogs per class
They were your partner and shared your successes and fun. They aren’t ready to stay home while
others are getting to go and have fun.
Let them know how important they are to you and share some activities that are suited to their abilities
and limitations.
Each week the seniors will get mental and physical stimulation as they get to perform low/zero impact
“obstacle courses” that involve weaving through cones, performing wait stay cues, finding hidden
treats/toys, tunnels and more. Obstacles will be adjusted to each student’s needs and to avoid injury.
Each team will have a suitable new course weekly.
These dogs are your partners for life - add some fun into theirs.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy
Instructor-Clarisse Schwanz
Dates – Friday December 1, 8,15,22,29, January 5
6 weeks - $130
Time: 6:30-7:30pm
Limit of 6 pups per class
This program is the beginning class for your young pup (up to one year old). There are 20 steps to success in this program including a responsible owner and a well-trained pup. All dogs who pass the evaluation will be enrolled in the AKC STAR program. Your pup will receive a medal, a frameable certificate, a puppy handbook and ongoing monthly emails. The STAR program is open to all pups purebreds and mixed breeds.
Pups must be 10 months or younger at the first class to be able to test on the last week.
We will need copies of the pup’s shot records. We also need proof of a negative fecal exam done within the last year. If you haven’t done a fecal you can do it now and if necessary your pup can be cleared before the start of class.
You will be officially registered once we receive all of your paper work and the class is paid for.
COVID Class Rules
OKC has put the following procedures in place for all members and students:

Class sizes are limited to max 7 dogs, 10 people (including instructor)

Do not attend class if you, people in your household, or other people that you have had recent extended physical contact with have COVID (or other easily communicable illness) symptoms.

Masks are not required, but are recommended while you are in the building.

Sanitizing your hands when entering/leaving the building is recommended.

Maintain distance from your classmates as much as possible.

Crate floors and handles must be sanitized before you leave
Agility specific rules:

Do not touch equipment, allow the instructor and designated helpers to set courses and bars.

Upon arrival for class, please immediately sign in, then bring in your bag/bed, bring in your dog last.

All of your belongings should be placed in your crate bin.
-
Please remain seated next to your crate when you are not in-ring or exercising your dog.

Be ready for your turn in the ring, everyone gets more ring time if you are ready to walk into the ring when it is your turn!

No talking during class, unless you are asking the instructor a question or working with your dog. The acoustics in the building are not great.
