Outreach |
For the Olean Kennel Club, our work doesn’t stop at the training ring.
Being an active, positive part of our community is central to who we are as a club. One of our core objectives is to help build greater knowledge and appreciation of dogs, encourage responsible dog ownership, and give people the skills they need to communicate with and train their dogs successfully.
Because better understanding builds better relationships — between dogs and their people, and between dogs and the communities where they live.
Throughout the year, Olean Kennel Club looks for opportunities to give back, share what we know, and connect with our neighbors. You may find our members hosting educational programs, attending community events, volunteering, supporting local organizations, or dreaming up entirely new ways to put our love of dogs to work.

Dog Safety Education for Children & Teens
Knowing how to read and safely interact with dogs is an important skill — especially for young people.Through our AKC Dog Listener presentations, Olean Kennel Club members help children and teens learn how to better understand the dogs around them. Learn more.
Olean Kennel Club members regularly look for opportunities to participate in local events, share educational resources, volunteer, introduce people to dog sports and training, and support organizations doing good work throughout our area.
Sometimes that means a formal presentation. Sometimes it means setting up a booth at a community event, bringing dogs out to meet the public, lending a few extra hands, or simply starting a conversation about responsible dog ownership.
